The Royal

Can anyone tell me if the south african guy still has the Royal (cafe) which is just past the Hard Rock Cafe on the strip.

We used to go there for our evening meals as they did the best fillet steak with fried onions but when we were there last in 2006 he said they were selling up

and it is quite a bit of a track from where we are staying this year, i wondered if it was worth going up there if he had gone and the menu had changed.

Many Thanks

Jan

we answered our own question, just got back from Lanzarote and went to The Royal, it is still in the same hands that it has been for the last 18 years and the food and service was just as good as ever! The fillet steak is still the best as is the other food.

Glad your favourite restaurant was still there - not heard of that one. Will peg it away for future reference.

What was PDC like? I've read on different forums that it's quiet all over the island at the moment.

It is very quiet, and has been since the XL saga, according to some of the bar/restaurant workers we spoke to.

The Royal Bistro is on the front at PDC, about 30 yards pat Mulligans bar(ex-Harley Rock), heading towards the old town.

Enjoyed the Cafe del Carmen, up towards the San Antonio. Great for breakfasts, and a chilled-out atmosphere at night. Friendly staff, good service.

Thanks Steve

Just wish the greedy airlines would reduce their charges, as the apartment owners seem to have done. Perhaps more people would be able to enjoy Lanzarote then.
