Morro de Sao Paulo vs. Praia do Forte

Should we go to either Morro de Sao Paulo or Praia do Forte? 2 night stay in late June. 35 yr old with brother and wife and very active 65 yr old parents. Staying in Salvador before and after.

If you can try to go to both places, they are just fantastic ! but if you can only go just to one, I surely will prefer Morro de São Paulo for 2 nights.

You can go to Praia do Forte as part of a day van tour that goes up the coast, with several stops, including one to swim at the loveliest area beach Guarajuba. PdF is an expensive Disney-esque version of what some people imagine Brazil is like. The turtle project needs about 30 minutes to see thoroughly.

Then spend an overnight or 2 in gorgeous Morro

I guess that that last post was by a Brazilian, they are so rude about Praia do Forte, which is a really cool place to visit. Outside of Bank Holidays it is quiet, with a great beach, friendly beach bars, great choice of restaurants. There are sporting activites if you want but mainly it is such a relaxing chill out place. Ok, it is slightly more expensive than some parts of Brazil but if you are coming from abroad you will still find it amazing value to eat and drink.

No, it was not by a Brazilian, but the opinion still holds.

I would recommend as well to visit both places.

Praia do Forte is indeed quite touristic but has more to offer than just the Projeto Tamar (turtle project). One should also visit the Castelo Dias d'Avila, one of the oldest stone building remains of Brazil with a very intregueing history and superb views.

Morro de São Paulo is also something typical for tourists : beaches, and nothing but beaches. Personnaly I prefer the neighbouring isle Boipeba which is a lot less touristic !
