You dont advise your budget?

Rasa sayang 5*

Golden Sands 4*

Holiday Inn and Park Royal and Bayview Beach Hotel.

For a small guest house near the beach ali guest house is good.

All depends what you want to pay.

Hi

agree with suggestions of Ali.

You will have missed the better deals because you have not already booked, but Malaysian residents do [usually] get a better rate than us tourists.

As soon as you get into Penang State, get a copy of the Tourist Newspaper (rm3.00) - there are some good special offers in there right now.

Mar Vista Resort Apartment

Bayu Emas Apartment

Hi JeannieOshea

Don't bother with Sri Sayang unless you want a noisy holiday in outdated apartments.

We stayed at the Eden Fairway last month for 3wks & it was fab. Large clean 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartments (that will sleep 6 comfortably) with a nice quiet pool 5 minutes walk to beach & pasar malam by the Golden Sands Hotel & 10 minutes to Long Beach hawker centre.

I can send you a message with the contact details if you like.

Hi Jeannie,

The hotels that you mentioned is not on the beach itself. Have a look at The Lone Pine Hotel which is located along the beach and is within walking distance to restaurants, shopping outlets and Penang's famous ‘Ferringhi Night Bazaar’.

It is a cozy old hotel with its rooms facing the sea with beautiful gardens shaded by big Casuarina trees. It is now under the management of E & O hotel. There are horse riding activities.

I have in fact recommended this to another visitor earlier. I hope this info is helpful to you...more details, map and photos can be found in the following blog.

Sadly the Lone Pine is over Jeannies budget, so I would stick with ITIKs recommendation which fits the bill - which looks like good value with Pool and resonable walking distances to beach and shops etc.

9. Re: Where to stay in Penang?

Hey there,

Thanks for the information. I heard about the Lone Pine as well and unfortunately, the hotel is occupied during Hari Raya Festival, including many other service apartments.

With a tight budget, I have booked the rooms in Copthorne Orchid Hotel during Hari Raya.

So, any interesting or special gourmet stalls near to the hotel?? :)

Many thanks

Jeannie
