August is a good month to visit and there is so much to see and do in and around Penang.

AND, no risk of hurricanes which do happen around the Antiga region durning July to November.

Whether should be fair in August.Fair means about 24 to 30 celcius n not heavy rain, just intermittent rain.31st August is the national dat so there will be parades esp.in KL n Penang.maybe can join in the celebrations.Enjoy!!!

Hi

Can't comment on Antigua but We went to Penang last August for two weeks and it only tended to rain very early in the morning on a few occasions but it dried up extremely quickly. We are going again this August (visiting family) and can't wait.

Four different locations with kids in the heat of Malaysia ! Well of corse it can be done but you will be knackered with all that travelling around, so will they !

http://www.langkawi-ferry.com/

This is the link for the ferry between Penang and Langkawi.

Don't worry about the weather in august, its good on both islands.

Malaysia is far cheaper than the Carribean.

How do you intend to travel from Singapore - KL - Penang.

Are you going to hire a car or use public transport ?

What about getting back from Langkawi to Singapore !

Hi yes u can travel from Singapore to KL to Penang then to Langkawi. Its just a matter of what mode of transport u want to travel.either by plane, train,or bus or taxi???If money is not a matter its of cos the best to travel all by plane cos its so much more convenient n safe a lot of time. All the flights in between destinations odesnt take more than an hour.Fro Penang to langkawi by flight its only 25 mins.but if u opt to travel by ferry its also convenient to board the fery from the port takes about 1 and half hr or so.In Penang it depend s on what location of hotels u prefer whether its in the city where is walking distance to most of the shopping n tourist areas or by the beach cos as u know Penang is a island. If at the city reasonably priced hotels r like the Cititel,City Bayview,or Granf Continental.More upmarket will be like Evergreen Laurel,G hotel, along Gurney Drive or The Northam hotel ,E&O,along the millionaires row.If by the beach which is a distance from the city at Tanjung Bungah u have Sandy Paradise,Novotel,Copthorne n further along the Batu Ferringhi Beac r Rasa Sayang,Casuarina,Golden Sannds,Holiday inn,Park Royal.Bayview beach resort.
