Travelling elsewhere

Coming to Argassi in July, just wondering the easiest options of travelling outside of Argassi?

Neither of us want to hire a car, so would bus or taxi be the best option?

If it's cost, you can hire a scooter, quad very cheaply. Buses are a bit infrequent but there are loads of taxis. You can find a list of prices for most common journeys on the Justzante website.

www.justzante.co.uk/zante_taxi_fares.asp

They are 2012 prices but won't have changed too much.

Cycling is another option.Zante town,Vasilikos,Kalamaki and Laganas would be ok to cycle to.Depends on how fit you are in what could be hot weather.

If you wanted to go into Zakynthos town, then you could take the tourist train - think it costs about 5 Euros return. Runs 3 - 4 time a day. Also, and again this depends on where you want to go, there's the free bus to St Nicholas beach each day - although you have to hire a sunbed at the beach to get your return ticket! Regarding taxis, the prices are fixed, so no need to haggle or look for the best price. Buses - tend to be a bit unreliable (although we did see two last week!). If you want to go anywhere other than Zakynthos town by bus, then you will need to change in town. So - pertty much depends on where you're looking to travel to - if anywhere other than Zakynthos town or somewhere within walking / cycling distance, then a taxi would be your most reliable and flexible option.
