I have never noticed anyone drinking non alcaholic beer or ever seeing it on offer.Though as many would tell you i am not an expert on non alcaholic beer.Far from it.
I've never seen non-alcoholic beer on sale anywhere in Greece, not that I've been everywhere mind, lol.
Its one of those things I suppose unless you actually drink it you wouldn't know if its there or not. It looks like regular bottled beer but just without the alcohol. We usually go to Spanish Islands and it is available most places but having never been to Greece I didn't know. Its not a major problem if it not available just himself gets a bit sick of fizzy drinks.
I have never noticed non alcoholic beer and I have occaisions where I have been driving so not wanted to drink. In those instances I have usually stuck to the fanta orange still - not quite as sickly as the fizzy type - or just had water.
Non alcoholic beer in Greece is the "Buckler" brand.
Buckler Beer is this: beer.gr/index.php/…37-buckler
It's *NOT* a zero alcohol beer but a very low alchohol one at 0.50%.
It is distributed by the same company that imports / distributes Heineken, Fischer, Erdinger, Carib and other.
Buckler is available for sell in larger supermarkets, while some places may have it. Not all though. I 'd say the minority, so it's an "ask and see" case.Edited: 11:52 am, July 18, 2011
Oh fab. Thats great. Thanks to all who replied. I'll keep an eye out for Buckler!!! Is it only available in supermarkets or would bars have it too?
Larger supermarkets will have it but village supermarkets will most probably not have such a variety.
Re: bars it depends. Most will not.
If you get to a larger supermarket, perhaps stocking on in may be a good idea to enjoy it at balcony - terrace or room. Not something i 'd venture exclusively for ( meaning going a whole trip to a bigger town to get that ), still if a larger supermarket happens to be on your way, get in and have a quick look + purchase some :)
Thats perfect. As I said it is not a major issue if we cannot get it but it would be nice for himself if we could.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply!
