first trip advice on hotel and activities

Hi

This will be our first visit to Tenerife and want to find a nice resort. We are trying to decide between Los Cristianos and PDLA. We like walking and would also like to hire bikes and cycle to some rural or inland areas. Is the area suitable for cycling as I prefer to cycle on quite roads not high traffic motorways. We also would like to do some senic walks around 8 to 10 miles can you walk from PDLA to Los Cristianos ?

We like nice restaurants and some bars not any mad night life but a place with a bit of buzz. We will be arriving on New Years Eve so is either resort better than the other for New Year?

I have been looking at Sol Princessa Dacil as the price is good is this in a good location ?

Any other advice for first timers

Each to there own,but Sol P Dacil is not somewhere that i would stay there are much nicer places and better locations. You can walk from LC straight through to PDLA along the sea/prom it's a lovely walk and plenty of places to stop off on route ie bar's/ restaurant's shops. Each resort goes into the other without you realizing.

Lots of bike hire.I think there's more places in PDLA for entertainment LC seems to be few pub's but mainly eating place.

Hotel Princess Dacil is in a good location in Los Cristianos, very close to seafront,a few minutes into old town,Sunday Market just over the road. The walk from LC to PDLA along the seafront (Las Vista Beach) is a really pleasant experience,in fact probably the nicest walk on the Island. If you really enjoy walking, get a taxi on a Saturday to the Market in Costa Adeje, have a look around, then walk all the way back along the seafront to LC it will take you all day,but there is so much to enjoy, the views, the shops, the bars,it is a wonderful day out, just make sure your feet are comfortable. There is so much to do in LC and PDLA .look at the Restaurants and things to do on Trip Advisor. One of the best in LC is Restaurant Margarita, fantastic food, reasonably priced, and Entertainment every evening.Lots of places to hire bikes, and you can ride along the seafront. There are better Hotels, but you get what you pay for,You may want to look at Paradise Park.Everything is within easy walking distance. We have been returning every year for over 30 years,so Tenerife must have something.ENJOY
