carnival times in PDC

Hi all,

We are staying in Costa Teguise for a week from 14th feb at Sands Beach and i believe there is a carnival in PDC the weekend we are there. Can anyone advise me on this in the way of times etc and what to expect. I understand the bus service is very good but i am also wondering if Last minute transfers do the CT to PDC and if they are reasonably priced, i cant seem to suss it out on their website. Thanks in advance for any replies

feb 16th 17.00 PDC

catch the bus at 16.00 from los zocos, near sands beach, gets you there for around 17.00,€2.80.

get off at hotel san antonio, and walk ahead until you come to the start of the carnival, about 10 mins.

you will love it,and last minute dont do buses to the carnival.

What happens at the festival? Is it a parade through town or more of a market?

Hi

Its a parade featuring bands/dancers/floats/people in fancy dress etc..which goes along the main strip ending up in the old town where there will usually be a small fun-fair...kiosks selling food beer etc and where there is a stage which has entertainment on until the early hours of the following morning.

It is a procession up the full length of the front from the casino end to the old town harbour, once they get to the harbour area there is a massive party. Great fun. Try to check out the theme, last year it was cowboy's and Indian's the wife and I took cowboy costumes, not much just check shirts, jeans and cowboy hats, really got stuck in and enjoyed the night. It is packed solid though so get out early and get a seat on one of the pub balconies to get the best view. Enjoy!!

Hi

Most of it will be over by Sunday......there is still some live entertainment on the stage in the old town

Sunday 17th February

12:00 Carnival Day with Los Concejales, Rafael Flores “El Morocho” of Batucadas, Comparsas & Drag Queen in the Plaza del Varadero.

All the processions and the majority of partying will be over as the parade is on Saturday evening and the party will go on early into Sunday morning-
