Heber city cabins -ski resorts distance

We want to rent nice cozy somewhat luxurious cabins in Heber City. All other accommodations way too expensive near resorts. We want to cook in most nights. Like the privacy and remoteness, but I'm worried how feasible to drive every time to park city or canyons. I think closest place is via Jordanelle gondola, deer valley. Does all this sound like a good idea? I can go food shopping in Heber City,,this is for prime time holiday skiing during Xmas and New Years...Heber city or Jordanelle homes seem the most economical, just worried we will hate the drive and parking lots and confusion. Any advice will be appreciated.thanks rosa. Family of 15

Well, Jordanelle does offer you immediate access to skiing at DV unless gondola is on wind hold, which is infrequent. Midway/HeberCity is15 minutes to gondola, 25-30 minutes to resorts. Decent restaurants and groceries there, too. Many interesting bed and breakfast inns in Midway that are worth checking. You could also grab a VRBO rental. Don't have any specific cabin recommendations.

You would find it a nice place to stay. Great tubing nearby at Soldier Hollow. Yes, it's a drive. But it's better than staying in SLC and driving. Jordanelle is totally uninteresting, though, so keep that in mind.

Have fun.

You could also check cabins in Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon and ski in the Salt Lake resorts for a 5 minute drive to the slopes. Little Cottonwood will have better skiing. Or if you prefer Park City, check VRBOs a little further away from the historic center but closer than Midway and Heber in places like Summit Park or Jeramy Ranch. Otherwise, T&C has given some great info.
