Hamptons advice

Looking for a short 1-2 night getaway in the Hamptons with a few girlfriends and need advice on where to stay. Can you please recommend a decent but not so expensive place to stay (at least 3-4 stars for tripadvisor reviews). Doesn't have to be super fancy, but definitely no roach motels. I know nothing about the hamptons, but assume we would take the jitney there roundtrip so would probably need somewhere fairly accessible since we would be without a car. We are a small group of women in our late 20s-30s looking to primarily relax and maybe go out one of the nights. Our timeframe is fairly flexible for July through September. Any advice would be much appreciated.

There are virtually no places to stay in the Hamptons in a village within walking distance of both restaurants/town and beaches. The places in towns are typically most expensive. The Westhampton Bath & Tennis is one exception but gets awful reviews and won't be cheap. There are a few motels in Montauk that are in town and near the beach, but that's more or less it. If you want to consider that, look at the Ocean Beach resort.

You'd really be better off renting a car and if there are a few of you, You should also know on weekends, most places require a 2 night stay.

If you want to look at places not in town, post back with an idea of nightly budget and number of girls.

OK great thanks for the info. Any idea how much a car rental would be there? Or I guess we could also drive. 3-4 women and the Ocean Beach Resort looks good. Probably more than we would like to spend, but we understand that there is a price to pay for the Hamptons. Are there other less expensive, but decent, places you would recommend if we drive or rent a car?
