What to explore on long weekend in July

DH and I will be spending the July 4th long weekend in Lenox. We have tanglewood tickets for the evening of July 4 and 5. What should we explore during the day?

MoCA and the Clarke museum are on my list, not sure if we are up to both on the same day...

We hiked mt. Greylock in October a few years ago, but the heat in July makes that unappealing.

Thanks for any suggestions. We are an active couple in our 50's, enjoy good food, and obviously, music!

The Hancock Shaker Village and The Mount in Lenox might interest you.

We did the shaker village a few years ago with ds but the mount is a great idea. I was there 30 years ago but dh has never seen it!

Would you be interested in the Norman Rockwell museum? What about shopping? Stockbridge and Williamstown are interesting towns.

Naumkeag in Stockbridge is also a pretty special place:

I have a list of things to do in the Berkshires that we originally put together for friends and family. A lor of people have found it helpful.

I'll send you a copy via message center. Enjoy your visit !

The Mount has been restored in recent years - it may feel quite new!

Hiking in July may be fun - remember, the weather here is 10 degrees cooler than NYC, and you will be hiking in the forest. Of course, it can be 90 degrees too!

Thank you for all the helpful suggestions; will add to the list. Will everything be open on July 4th?

Also, any idea what time we have to be at Tanglewood if we have tickets in the shed? Made some dinner reservations in Lenox, and want to be sure I left ourselves enough time.

Everything should be open. The Clark has been closed for renovations but is due to reopen July 4th! Good timing!

Be sure to check out the local theater groups also. Most of the ones I have been to have been great!
