swimming beaches

I think I read somewhere that the sea at Caleta is very shallow and you have to walk/wade a long way before the water is deep enough for swimming. Is this so? If it is are all the beaches on Fuerteventura similar? We stayed at El Costillo a few years ago and could only swim at high tide.

1. Re: swimming beaches

You are correct about the main beach in Caleta. Just south of Caleta, in front of the Sheraton Hotel and the Atlantico Commercial Centre, there are some man-made lagoon beaches, which do go deep fairly quickly.

There are all kinds of beaches on Fuerteventura - http://www.fuerteventura-beaches.com/
