Recommendation for 1day stay in Mt cook


We are travelling to mount cook from Christchurch .... Will be staying in mount cook for a single night i.e on may 15th. Please suggest accommodation options in reasonable price range and convenient location.

' reasonable price' could have a far different meaning to you than it does me - these are the options


also look at www.wotif.com for discounts

my choice would be a mountain view room at either the Hermitage or the Alpine Lodge

Get on the web matey. In Mt Cook village Itself there is not a lot of choice.

What is your budget? If you want cheaper than the Backpackers, consider Glentanner Park just outside the National Park. They have a range of cabins, including bunkrooms with no facilities, but their communal kitchen/TV lounge/bathrooms/laundry are excellent.

Check out the Aoraki Alpine Lodge Mount Cook. Variety of prices, excellent public lounge and kitchen. Awesome views. Or the YHA has a great lodge in Mt Cook also. They are both in the village and it is wonderful tobstay there and watch and listen to the mountains at night.
