Has anyone taken a van from the airport to Bucerias. There are 5 of us this time and a lot of luggage. Wondered about the cost versus taking 2 cabs.
The cost of a van is just about twice the cost of 2 taxis. There are 3 taxi booths and to the Royal Decameron, and for a car, they currently charge 413, 412 and 415 pesos. For a taxi van, the same distance costs 810, 805 and 811 pesos. (This info is from the #1 Top Question on the Puerto Vallarta forum.)
2 taxis may be easier if anyone in your group has mobility problems.
Five passengers and your bags will be a fixed rate in either a suburban or 10 passenger vane are two kiosk with attend with your bangs that have big signs. The destination and price are marked in the booth and you will pay the clerk not the driver and they will drive up and assist you and you are on your way.Edited: 12:55 am, November 19, 2017
FYI. The posted cost for a taxi or taxi van at the airport is to go to the Royal Decameron. All other points in Bucerias are an extra charge. To take a regular taxi for 2 people from the airport to centro Bucerias, the cost is 550 peso. Myself (August), friend (September), and other friends (November), were ALL told the same cost to take taxi at airport when we all returned from vacations to the north. All of us refused to pay this amount and walked across the bridge to get a taxi for 300 peso.
Expect to pay more than the above cost of 810peso for a taxi van.
Good luck!Edited: 6:54 am, November 19, 2017
