A day in Sav Vito including boat trip

Hello,

I am thinking of renting a car from Trapani to Palermo and on our way stop at San Vito Lo Capo..maybe have lunch and then take an afternoon boat trip with Hippocampus Sea Services, as I've read great reviews about them.

Would I find parking available in San Vito, where I can leave the car all day?

We will be travelling at the end of August.

Thank you.

Ciao Jessica C,

Avoid driving in Palermo!

Consider parking at Palermo’s airport when visiting Palermo.

www.gesap.it/index.php…

Take the frequent and reliable Prestia e Comandè bus service from the airport to Palermo.

Click on “Aereoporto Falcone Borsellino – Palermo”:

The Prestia e Comandè service from the airport to Palermo runs later than other public transport from Palermo to any surrounding town. You could then enjoy a very long day in Palermo, including dinner, which is generally considered late in Sicily by tourist’s standards, just beginning around 20.00. Then take the bus back to the airport, collect your car, and drive onward to your hotel.

Parking is challenging in San Vito Lo Capo, especially during peak season in August.

There is free and paid parking in San Vito Lo Capo.

There are two locations for free parking. You could park at the port and walk about 5 minutes to the town centre and beach, or you could park further afield at the entrance to the town.

Parking in the centre is paid parking, € 5 for the day (24 hours).

If street parking, yellow lines are for residents only; blue lines are paid parking, € 1 per hour; white lines are free for only 1 hour parking.

Hi Vagabonda,

Thank you for your feedback. You are always very helpful.

I was thinking of spending 3 days in Palermo after San Vito. So I guess I should leave the car when I arrive in Palermo.

Prego Jessica C,

If ending in Palermo, return the car at Palermo’s airport prior to arriving in the city, and take the bus from the airport to the city.

Hi Vagabonda

Do you know of any companies that offer a day trip via boat from Palermo to San Vito Lo Capo? Are there many options?

I've found siteseeings.com - unfortunately they are booked out during my stay.

Thanks

Anthony
