What to do with luggage?

During a trip in March, we plan to travel by train from Salzburg or Freilassing to Munich. Enroute we would like to stop at Prien long enough to visit Lugwig's palace on the Herrenchiemsee. Does the train station at Prien have a place for us to stowe our bags (a backpack and a carryon rollabout) for two or three hours? If not, is there another place to leave the bags so we don't have to carry them with us the whole time?

According to the DB station database there are no luggage lockers at Prien station.

You could ask the Prien tourist office:

If you strike out on abalada's suggestion, there is a hotel within view and walking distance of the station. If you ask them (and perhaps offer to have a meal or drink there), they probably will lt you dump your luggage there.

Thank you for the information, and the alternatives. This points out one of the hassles of train travel, but I do not want to deal with a car in Munich, or any other unfamiliar large city. We will drive to Salzburg and be there for three nights before turning in the car, so we will probably take in Chiemsee enroute to Salzburg or cut into our time there.
