Concerned about Pineda de Mar

Recently booked a holiday staying in Alegria Pineda Splash in Pineda de Mar. A few reviews on here say theres not a lot to do in the area making me really concerned.

Can anybody who has been here possibly reassure me? Jet 2 have said I can transfer to a different hotel if unsure, but want some opinions first. I am thinking if not here, I'll go to Lloret de Mar or Malgrat de Mar. We just want a relaxing holiday, with nice beaches, maybe a waterpark, restaurants, a bit of shopping. Nothing too clubby, we're not big drinkers.

Hi Craig, Calella would probably be the better of the two. We found t hat there was a nice buzz in the town without being too rowdy.

I’m in Pineda de Mar at the moment. It’s definitely a quieter resort. However Calella is only 30 minute walk away and a bit liveir. Pineda has a few nice beach bars.

Just back from this hotel. It is not quiet. The area is certainly quieter than benidorm but im sure if thats what you wanted you wld have booked there. Hotel yards from beach and train station. Lots of places to eat but many are up side streets. We had a fab holiday with grand kids.

Whilst everyone is commenting about Pineda, Can I ask if there is sun beds/brollies on the beach to hire and someone did mention the sea wasn’t suitable to swim in, why is this? I’m due to go in a couple of weeks and love to spend days relaxing on the beach.

We got back from pineda De mar last week. Its a lovely place and we had a fantastic time. Plenty going on and nice shops and places to eat. You can hire Sun beds and umbrellas (think they were €5 each) although as the sand is more gritty than grainy it doesn't go everywhere and comfy to lie on. We had a villa with a great supermarket nearby. We hired bikes which were great (mikeys motos).

Additionally, the sea gets deep really quickly which we didn't find a problem but you are suddenly out of your depth so not good for non swimmers or young children
