If your route is the SS3 Flaminia, between Terni and Spoleto there is a 200 mt. long tunnel. After further 500mt. and a large bend, turn right direction Acquaiura and after 1,2 km will arrive at the fine restaurant il Capanno with outdoor seating as well. There isn't anything nicer or better value in the area. Nothing in the menu is listed to fill up hungry tommys, but to taste tradional food presented in modern style in a refined ambience run by a friendly family.

If you're asking whether it's a good idea to make a lunch stop in NARNI en route to Foligno, I would answer YES!.

Narni is a delightful town, and can be seen in about one hour (or less) on foot. Stopping here for lunch is a good plan. You'll also note the remaining portion of the old Roman bridge which spans the gorge between Old Narni and Narni Scalo (train station) below.

For those arriving by train, there is a frequent local bus shuttle between Narni's train station and the main piazza of town above (daily including Sunday).

Narni was delightful. I only went as my dog's nickname is Narni - what a beautiful place! We wandered through the medieval streets - no tourists!!! We ate at a smal restaurant down some steps which had a chicken on the painted sign - nice place and great view!

Hi gillipepper07

Just back from Our trip to Umbria and we visited Narni one afternoon by special request of dd who wanted to see Narnia!

It's a really lovely little town. There are lifts up from the car park so access is easy. The tourist office is in the main square and the lady there was really friendly. We did the Narni underground tour and it was fascinating.
