Hotel room for family of 4

We are exploring the idea of traveling to Greece next summer. It appears that hotel rooms max out at 3 occupants. We will have children 12 and 10 next year and would like to stay in 1 hotel room to keep the cost down. Is this possible or should we look for an apartment rental? We are looking to spend approximately $200- night. The old town sounds very appealing for a home base. Thanks.

Good luck, wheatonmom, in your search. Yiassas has good info. Do not be surprised at not finding quads ... main reason is, most Greek hotel rooms are small, compared to your average US Red Roof Inn ... because the buildings are smaller, and older. That's why Europe is fun; it's different.

On some islands, like Naxos, you can do well with a "1 BR Studio" self-catering unit in a beach area... it has a double bed in the BR, and 2 studio couches in the LR/Kitchen combo ... people often put the kids in the BR, otherwise it's a really early night for the adults. In an Old Town, harder to find such.
