Water in February

Hi there!

Wondering if the waters are at all safe to be in during late February typically? Not talking actual swimming probably but just jumping in the waves by the shore. I've heard it is somewhat more calm

during late February but you obviously still have to use common sense. Any thoughts? Thank you!

The surf is different at many points of the beach stretching from Playa Carmen (Santa Teresa south) all the way up past Northern Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa and Playa Manzanillo.

Some days there are large waves, some days there aren't. Some areas have a tide rip, some areas do not. Some points of the beach has an abundance of surfers, some don't. Playa Manzanillo has no surf for the surfing crowd and is a great place to jump into the water and play in the waves, no tide rips, and is very safe.

There is no specific time where the water is calm. It changes with the wind and weather.

I am sure if you are here in Feb. you will find a part of the beach that makes you happy to frolic in the water.
