First Time Family Vacation

Hello! My family (wife, 3 kids under 13 and I) is planning a vacation to the OuterBanks in July. We were blown away by the number of rentals and locations to choose from! Basically we are looking to go to the beach, do some fishing/crabbing, see the sights, relax and find other family things to do. We are looking for a reasonably price rental that is convenient to the above activities. Where is the suggested spot in the Outer Banks where we might find what we are looking for? Who is a suggested rental company to work with?

You can find useful information on locations, rental companies, and the OBX in general here: http://obxconnection.com/

I think Nags Head/South Nags Head is a nice, central location for first-time visitors. In that area, I would start with Village Realty (http://www.villagerealtyobx.com/) or Joe Lamb (http://www.joelambjr.com/index.htm).

I agree with Quack, South Nags Head is central and family oriented. A few things for young kids- North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island and Oregon inlet to see the fishing boats come in at 3:30, they throw the fish up on the dock. There are 2 fishing piers within a mile and Outer Banks Pier has a nice little restaurant/ bar called Fish Heads.

What Quack said Nags Head is a great place to start from you can explore north or south from there . Lots of opertunitys to fish close by. from the beach pier or in the sound side off the bridge or a bit farther south off the Origon inlet bridge there is a cat walk to fish from Crab from the docks across from Pirates cove or the little bridge going there. They are on the way to Mantieo

Plenty of other activitys in that area too.
