Halloween on Isla Holbox

This will be my first visit to Holbox. We will be staying there on Halloween. I was wondering if the kids on the island celebrate Halloween collecting candy like American kids, or do they celebrate at all?

Halloween is an American holiday, not Mexican. Mexicans do generally celebrate Dia de los Muertos on November 1 and 2. You can read more about it here: utexas.edu/features/2006/muertos/index.html

Havin said all that, I must confess that this year will be by first time to be on Holbox during those dates, so I don't know the traditions there. I do know that the Yucatan, having been isolated for many decades from the rest of Mexico, tends to celebrate less or somewhat differently the many church holidays.
