Deep Woods Off and TSA regulations

Can you take the Deep Woods Off spray in your checked luggage?? Or will TSA remove it? What bug spray will get through and not be confiscated?

You can bring wipes in carryon and small size DEET bottles available in outdoor stores.

I took a large can of Deep Woods Off back and forth through AUS/CUN last month in checked luggage, no issues.

Aerosols must go in your checked luggage but if your Off is in a pump spray bottle, it can go in your carry-on bag (in liquids baggie with your other liquids) provided the bottle capacity doesn't exceed 100ml.

Hi!

I will be in Holbox for the first time next month; is it everyone's suggestion to use bug spray WITH Deet?

Only stuff with DEET works for me; YMMV.

For many years I had never used anything but after having dengue I decided it was time for DEET.

There’s nothing like a case of dengue to reorder one’s priorities. I still have vivid memories of getting it more than 30 years ago.

DEET, especially if you can get the 100% stuff. (We Canadians can't, grr.)

Icaridin is new and works well too, my deep-woods experience. That's with 20%, which seems to be another government maximum. Icaridin doesn't stink or melt plastic.
