It's do-able, and I actually find it quite pleasant. (It's the ocean; it's warm. It doesn't look clean, but is almost certainly clean enough. The sand is silty, and tends toward grey or pale tan.)

A postcard opportunity it isn't.

All the resorts on Denarau have good restaurants, good swimming pools, and great places to laze about.

Apart from playing golf, or going for a walk/jog around the jogging track, or tourist-y shopping at the port there's not much else to do.

Which is fine if you just want to blob. Or shop. (I have heard that Mama's Pizza at the port is the "best pizza evah! Must try!", and that meals at the golf club are very good indeed.

As Denarau is reclaimed mangrove swamp you will not get the pristine sand and water of the islands or the Coral Coast.

The beach in front of the Hilton is cleaner and the sand is cleaned everyday by the staff.

Depending on the tide, the water seems a little clearer too.
