Keep in mind Denarau "Island" isn't actually an island. It's connected to the mainland by a bridge and is built up from swampland.

The beaches aren't the great but all the major chain resorts are there (except a few).

I'd recommend getting out to one of the islands in the Mamanuca group, or perhaps the Yasawas.

Most Fiji resorts have a large array of water activities (from swimming to snorkeling and diving, fishing/sports fishing, surfing (only from some), paddleboarding, catamarans, etc.

Not a lot have jet skis because they do serious damage to the coral reefs that surround many resorts.

Mamanucas - decent beaches with nice sand, some get a bit of seaweed on them at times, and clear waters.

Yasawas - White powder sand beaches and crystal clear water. Normally reefs not far off the beaches as well.

What sort of budget per night do you have in mind?

We stayed at Sheraton villas which had lots of water sports! My hubby and son went jet skiing but it got delayed twice due to wind conditions! Double check that all your water sports are included wherever you stay ( mean non motorised ones)
