What foods can I bring to Fiji?

Can I bring some cup noodles to Fiji? We are staying at Mana Island and plan to go for meal plan but my husband is big eater so we want to bring some cup noodles so he can have late at night. I heard from someone Fiji customs will take cup noodles away. Has anyone had experiences about this? Thanks Tummy

Have taken chips and other packaged snacks. The following link has information on food items that are restricted or prohibited to bring into Fiji. Be sure to declare any food items you take with you.

Cup noodles should be Ok but you can buy them at a supermarket in Fiji if you have the time. Always declare what you have you can mostly keep packaged food but not meat or dairy products.

There is no problem taking cup noodles into Fiji Make sure you declare them. You can also take cheese provided it is wrapped in cryovac and has a use by date.

I usually pack 5 min noodles, last time I had the chicken flavoured ones taken from me at customs.

Not a huge loss, thought it quite funny actually... that the flavour sachet has something in it that really is classed as a poultry product :)

Safe travels,

Bring anything you like. The only noodles that are available at the local supermarket is the 2 min maggies and the local chow noodles (tomato is the best).

Try this - found on google.

As it's in the US you could contact them direct for clarification on 'restricted' items.

Or this

www.airportsfiji.com/restricted_items.php

We've taken packaged foods like snack biscuits from Australia, declared them and never had a problem.

As long as you declare foods, customs at the airport will soon tell you if you can't bring them in with you. Luggage is X-Rayed.
