Jackson Hole, Golfing ?

My husband and I planned a trip to Jackson Hole in late June. we will do some fishing, rafting, hiking... Does anybody know whether there are good golf courses ? We would love to have a few runs of golf.

Also any suggestion of where to stay ? thanks ahead.

I don't play golf. (Seems like the waste of a good walk.) But here's information on courses open to the public:

I know that Golf and Tennis is open to the public and has good views.

Check out Jackson Hole Golfer Magazine.

It showcases courses here and over the "Hill" in Teton Valley.

There are two golf courses easily accesible to the public in Jackson Hole:

1) Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis (near the airport)

2) Teton Pines (near Jackson Hole Resort on the West Bank of the Snake River)

There is one that is much less expensive in Rexburg, about an hour away, but it is not nearly as nice as the other two.

Both of the ones I listed above have fabulous views but I like Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis the best. You also can rent clubs from either course (expensive).

You also might enjoy reading my blog www.jacksonholefavorites.com where I give some descriptions of my favorite things to do in Jackson Hole (thanks for the inspiration to do a blog post on golf - will get to that this weekend). Have fun, Jackson was the best vacation my family ever had and it resulted in me buying a condo there 10 years ago.

Hi,

Just to clarify, there are other courses in between Jackson and Rexburg. The Rexburg coutse is an ok one for early season, but after the weather turns warm and snow melts, there is no reason to stay local in Jackson Hole or Teton Valley.

From Jackson Rexburg is more like 2 hours.

In Teton Valley, you have Teton Springs in Victor, ID @ 30-45 min drive w/an 18 hole course, and a par 3.http://www.tetonsprings.com/course/

About ten more minutes N between Victor and Driggs is the Teton Reserve http://www.tetonreserve.com/ and another 15 minutes NE you'll find a small 9 hole Targhee Village. http://www.targheevillage.com/. This is nice if you are not serious golfer as casual attire can be worn but fast play is still encouraged as it does get crowded.

The two newest courses Shooting Star in Jackson and Huntsman Springs in Driggs are members only unfortunatey considering they probably rank the highest in layout and over beauty.
