I recommend you push on through to WW and lunch there. Haven't been there in years. But my fondest memory was a wine trade trip where we were offered dinner from a "taco" truck reserved for our group. --- It may have been Januik?? It was exceptional!!
Your best bet would be to actually call a few of the tasting rooms and ask where they recommend~~~~
It's a bit tough timing, because noon has you just about nowhere near good food along the route to Walla Walla.
The Dalles is about the spot, and has a lot of OK places to eat, but nothing worth pulling over for IMO.
Earlier, Hood River has some decent choices - like the Sixth Street Bistro - but may be a bit early.
Walla Walla has some great dining of course, but may be a little late in the afternoon - especially if you stop along the Gorge to sight-see, and you should.
Maybe pack a picnic of great fare from any number of Portland delis and stop at any of the gorgeous Columbia River overlooks for lunch?
