Ono Hawaiian Food is a tiny but one of the few places specializing in only Hawaiian food. It's in a cute slightly off-the-beaten-path part of town over by Rainbow Drive-In. On a block with a great antique store, etc.

Definitely try Ono Hawaiian Food! We ate at it and Helena's on another day and felt the food at Ono had a slight edge. The pipi kalua ribs were boneless and more flavorful at Ono and the haupia had a better flavor and texture too.

Ono Hawaiian is cash only, no credit cards. Go early or go late and avoid the lunch hour as it is hard to get a seat.

Great eats at Ono! Thanks all! Must try the watercrest short ribs soups recommended by the chef! So tasty, at $14 a pop though.
