We get this question almost daily - and here's the long and short of it. The quickest and easiest way to get from the airport to Waikiki is via taxi. There is a taxi line outside of the luggage area, and there is an attendant to help you. The cabs come in all sizes (lots of SUVs and vans). Cost is around $35 to $40. You can hop on a shuttle, but with three people, it would be cheaper to take a cab and MUCH quicker.
There are numerous cab companies and shuttles companies that you can use for a fixed fee with reservations ... but you have to hassle with reservations, find them when you arrive and all that extra worry. So again - taxis are the best.
thanks BLBL for your advise
Google Honolulu airport taxis. You will find a few companies that offer a fixed price of $30USD for up to 4 passengers. You make a reservation a day or two in advance. They check your flight and allow time for clearing customs. You the call them and they will direct you where to meet the car waiting for you.
I use this company, Hawaii23. Takes one or two e-mails. They will be at the terminal waiting for you to arrive.
Many thanks for your help fishdiva :-)

We use Hawaii 23 - track flights, always on time, great local knowledge. Go Mark....
I'm with the previous messages, we booked Hawaii23 twice no dramas. Very convenient, easy, would recommend it. Mark of the offsider he uses are reliable, prompt & friendly.
However this time we picked up a rental from the airport (prebooked) and as we got a brilliant rate, this was by far the best option for us. Hubby is great driving on 'the other side of the road' and parking is free with no resort fee at the condo we are staying in at the Waikiki Banyan (booked via vrbo). Handy having a car for the trip, especially with free parking and no airport transfers or shuttles/buses. We cruise around at our own pace. All the best.
