Vanilla Beans

Aloha!

Can anyone tell me the best place to buy vanilla beans in Honolulu and can I bring them back into Australia (of course I will declare them).

Has anyone had any issues bring beans into Australia?

Mahalo!

The Hawaiian Vanilla Co on Big Island has a terrific product.

You can have them sent over to Oahu for a flat shipping rate of $7.00...... To your Hotel or condo.

Sometimes supermarkets have natural/health/bulk foods sections.

Just a theory, but you might get more responses from Australians about importing food items on the Aus. forum.

There's Kahuko Farms, if you're heading north.

As to where to get the vanilla beans, I'll leave that to the local experts to answer.

Re: Bringing them back into Australia....

I brought a heap home from Bali last year - just make sure that they are commercially packaged & sealed & above all else - remember to declare them & you shouldn't have any problems.

On a side note - my pantry smells beautiful!!
