Ala Moana Center is near Waikiki. Royal Hawaiian SC is in Waikiki. Some people love the outlets.

Best depends on type of clothing and $ range.

No dress code. Sundresses or khaki shorts are good for nicer restaurants at night. Ts and shirts in daytime.

Cover-ups are nice.

genx1...I have no idea at all where you are coming from or what you are trying to do...background, trips to the island, any experience at all with what our folks want to know. Just please give it a rest!

Grahpril, hang in for the experts on this forum, and good luck!

A little thing like adding a location to the profile does so much. genx, if you live in Hawai'i, updating your profile would communicate that you have local knowledge.

This is the kind of forum where most regulars know where the others are coming from, and add some personal experience with the advice. That helps other people form an opinion about whether it's advice that suits them. Advice from people with similar travel styles and philosophies.

Like mamma said, we have no clue where you are coming from after a couple hundred posts in the last month. I think mamma is puzzled and frustrated, and is not alone, and it finally got to her.

Genx1 - presuming you are from Newcastle NSW Aus. Check out top right of Trip Advisor for 'shopping for Australians'. We have all asked these questions before and the best information you can rcv is in this section. Shopping is a great experience at Ala Moana, Waikele and other centres mentioned particularly when our $ is at a great rate. I have been to Hawaii when we have been at 65c, 78c so is just wonderful at present. Planning is so important so make the most of previous posts and good info.

Just back. Dress code in Honolulu is layback, dress as you would for a tropical aussie beach resort. (Noosa etc). Shopping at Ala Moana and Waikele Outlets is good. Catch the "Bus" to Ala Moana, there are $5 shutttles to Waikele Outlets from Waikiki.

And to those who cannot get on this site without being impolite, pull your ascerbic mindless heads in, the world doesn't need you, your evolution has stopped.

O.K let us all cool down. Remember there are always people who are new to Trip Advisor and are not sure how to proceed with questions. A little courtesy goes a long way. Genx1 - see my previous post and after you have checked out the site top right 'shopping for aussies' do post any further questions. I travel to Hawaii every year as do other Aussies and we are happy to help out. Was new to us once and helpful T/Advisor posters made life so much easier when we arrived. Time is short on a holiday and you need to make the most of any travel and if shopping is your thing................let us help you.
