Trip Report.

Okay we are back from our vacation.

Flights were from h3ll because of weather and delays, no fault of airline.

Hotel: Aqua Continental surf - It was perfect.

Beds were CLEAN, COMFY. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Other visitors were great. Location was perfect. Close enough to the beach, on Kuhio and a short stroll from lots of great places to visit and eat.

Would stay again!

Fishing was awesome, loved that outing, my son thought that eating the fish was cool (age 4)

Catamaran - fun, wish we would have been warned about how rough the surf is on the ride out to diamond head.

Natural museum.... pretty cool - he loved the DINO egg

Aquarium - pretty cool and loved the interaction for kids.

Perry's Smorgy -

Loved the atmosphere....... was relaxing enough with a toddler who hates sitting still.

Fresh fruit was ample.

lots of selection

Mahi Mahi - sucked

everything else was good.

Free polyensian show at the international market wednesday night was cool.

Perfect for kids and saves you a fortune on those commercial luau's. Market food was good.

Overall experience was amazing

yes the mahi mahi sucked at the one place I tried it.

it was definately the cooks fault.

But that was okay cause I loved the fish we ate fresh bbq'd on the fishing trip.

We ended up staying 1 week.

We mostly hung out in Waikiki area, as my toddler wanted beach time....... and I was more than happy to spend all my time swimming and snorkeling.

The trip was a blast, and we both would happily go back, met some incredible people and had amazing time.

Next trip is in the fall somewhere all inclusive...... with a kids CLUB!

That is a good point on the 4 year old, we get a lot of questions on activities but as I recall at that age nothing topped sand castles and floating in the lagoon areas.

We met many in the airport with young ones who did nothing but b!tch that the vacation was ruined cause their little ones didn't have the patience to sit through the luau's, spend a day traveling to the north shore, or to the dole plantations.

The happy parents knew their limits and kept things simple and relaxed.

the mid day naps helped us both cope with the time difference and avoid the strong sun. our days started about 6am -11am then nap then from 330pm-930pm we did more

Having recently escorted my toddler granddaughter through the Discovery Center in Honolulu, I would highly recommend it to anyone with small children. It is an amazing place with lots of hands-on things to explore. With its three stories it is a great place to take the kids on a rainy day or on any day for that matter.

Hawaii..any Island is more geared to adults! We didn't take our kids until they were teens...they survived with relatives during our infrequent getaways...we had amazing time ALONE, WOW what a concept! 37 year in Sept! Trust me it works!
