Do I need to trent a car in Honolulu?

We are going to Honolulu in Dec and we cannot decide if we should rent a car. We are staying at the Mandarin Oriental which I think is farther out. What is your opinion???? We will be there for 4 days.

definately rent a car, the kahala mandarin is outside of waikiki past diamond head. Taxi will cost, buses take a while, take a drive around the island, check out the north shore, pearl harbor, the windward and waianae coast. jus be smart and dont leave any valuables in car (da punks will be watching)

I agree- if you're staying at the Mandarin, then a car is really a must. And you would want a car ro drive around the island anyway.
