How do I get from Buffalo Amtrak Exchange station to BUFFALO STATE COLLEGE? What hotels are close to either?
What time are you expecting to get into Buffalo?
You can walk from the train station (which is tiny, btw) to Main Street and catch the Metro Rail trolley heading UP the hill and under the building. The Metro Rail is free since you'll be staying above ground (you have to pay to go underground). Exit at Church Street and find the #20 bus to Elmwood Ave by Main Street and S. Division. The bus costs $2, and you need exact change, or 2 dollar bills. There's usually people waiting for various buses so you can ask them for help if you want. Buffalo State College is at 1300 Elmwood Ave, exit at Rockwell Rd. Here's a link to schedule info: http://metro.nfta.com/Routes/Routes.aspx
Almost any downtown Buffalo hotel is convenient to the Amtrak, esp. the Adam's Mark is close, or you can take the trolley to the Hyatt Hotel. There are currently no hotels near Buffalo State, but there is a bed & breakfast on Elmwood Ave and St. James Place near the college: tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60974-d736967-…

There aren't any hotels in (a short) walking distance to Buffalo State College. The closest is that Honu House B&B that the previous writer mentioned. There are hotels in Chippewa District and a little further down on Delaware Ave. Check out Holiday Inn & Best Western on Delaware Avenue - you can walk to Anchor Bar for Chicken Wings from there.
