We are planning to visit Sitka next summer, too. The following sites look interesting. We are planning for three days and hope it is enough time. Didn't plan on going fishing.

Russian Bishops House

Sitka National Historical Park

Alaska Raptor Center

Sheldon Jackson Museum

Well, if the above activities don't interest you, then you can try a boat excursion.

The National Historic Park should be interesting:

Or perhaps one of these:

I am going to Sitka for 4 nights in November and it seems like there is plenty to do!

In Southeast Alaska, Sitka is called "The Paris of the North" for good reason. It is a charming small town. If you enjoy a slower pace, there is plenty to see and do. My family enjoys the locally owned shops and restaurants, the hiking trails, the whale watching, the museums and historical sites, and the kayaking opportunities. If you need more than that, you are going to the wrong town! Best of all, Sitka is a great place to RELAX. Everything in the downtown core is within walking distance. Bring your raingear, your comfortable shoes and a good book or visit the awesome "Old Harbor Books" for a new title and a piece of pie at the "Back Door" cafe.
