Things to do in Luray for kids

My family and I will be visiting Luray in a few days, we have a few things that we know we are going to do. My husband and I have 3 children 14girl 9girl and a 8boy. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. This is my husbands and I second visit. and the kids 1st. My husband and I love it!

I assume you know about the Luray Caverns if you been to Luray before. There's also a zoo/reptile center that may be fun. Hikes in the Shenandoah National Park. You could also look into horseback rides and "pick your own" fruit. I think strawberries are in season. I also saw a Jellystone Park close by. I think they have a water slide and the like. Hope this helps. Have fun!

We just recently were there and did horseback riding. We have a 7 year old and this was the only place we could find that offered horseback riding he could actually do. We did an hour long ride and it was really great - he loved it and so did we!

Also, exploring Shenandoah National Park...you can rent a Junior Ranger backpack from any Ranger station/Information Center. Your 8 year old might enjoy that but the bonus is that it comes with 4 guidebooks inside to different hikes within the park. It also includes various field guides to flowers, trees, insects, birds, a pair of binoculars, magnifying lens, etc. We rented one for the day and our 7 year old really liked it.

Though we haven't done it yet, I am sure you could also find canoe trips in the area.
