October Trip

I will be visiting in the later part of October. It will be a US navy ships reunion. Will be staying out by Sea world. I'm from the Midwest so weather wise still warm? Is there enough to do out by sea world or should I plan to expand my search. Don't do well in large crowds but willing to try. Any ideas would be helpful. Also am flying in and renting from Hertz if anyone has opinions on that.

Is the reunion establishing accommodations? There is not much out near SeaWorld other than the park. It is not where I would stay if spending more than a couple days. Since you will have a car, it will make it easier to travel to other attractions.

San Antonio is known for its Riverwalk that is located downtown. The area can easily be navigated on foot or trolley and you could spend 3-4 days just in that area seeing the Alamo and the Missions for a start.

Weather should be nice but October can bring an occasional front from the north.

Enjoy San Antonio.

The San Antonio Riverwalk and all it's tourism venues/streetcars/boats is the "jewel of Texas" It is not to be missed by staying away in the suburbs/Sea World. Just my two cents.

Oh my fellow traveler. You will think all we are are mass shopping centers and malls if you stay near sea world. Please venture downtown or close by and see the pearl brewery king William and southtown. There's places where you can rent bikes and go explore and we are getting much better with our bike lanes. Sooo much to do! San Antonions love to party and we use any old excuse to do just that. Sacurrent.com will have a list of events going down the week your here. If you don't want to spend the big bucks for a pricey place in the city I suggest hyatt place near Alamo quarry which is another place you should check out. It's on basse rd.
