Non tourist restaurants

I'll be in San Antonio a couple of nights this month and will be taking local professionals to dinner. I don't want to take them to Riverwalk or areas where the tourists are.

Any small cute neighborhoods with nice upscale local restaurants?

Steak - Josephine Street entres $15 per person

Liberty Bar - entres about $20 per person

Zinc - $20 plus (sister to Boudro's - also good choice)

Upscale - Bohanans $$$$; Luke a little less; Biga on the Bank - same

do locals like to go into downtown in SA? In Miami we avoid downtown unless we have jury duty.

Feast in the King William District away from the Riverwalk and probably not well known by general tourist. Definitely hip and trendy!

I don't live in SA, but I would suspect that locals go downtown. There are theatres for live productions, the Alamodome for sporting events, restaurants, etc. Memphians go to downtown Memphis for the same reasons.

I love downtown. The near south and near north side are coming into their own.
