What to do in San Antonio?

I will be going to San Antonio in June for a conference and I want to know what to do. I have three full days. Any recommendations? I like to go to nice restaurants and sightsee. Anything would help. Thanks

Wow! That's pretty open ended. Have you checked out the earlier discussions here? Short list - Alamo, Riverwalk, Sea World.

If you give us a little more info on the type of things you like to do (shopping, nature, touristy, music, ranches, excitement, sports...) we can be more specific. Same for restaurants - what type of food do you like?

I will be staying close to Riverwalk. I want some good restaurants, typical San Antonio food. Maybe some good tours and nightlife?

good restaurants on Riverwalk:

upscale: Citrus - (hotelvalencia.com/san-antonio-riverwalk-rest…), Las Canarias (omnihotels.com/FindAHotel/…Dining.aspx), Pesca (http://www.watermarkhotel.com/restaurant/)

moderate: Boudro's (http://www.boudros.com/boudros/) - a good choice for seafood/steaks with a Mexican flair

typical San Antonio food found away from Riverwalk:

Mexican: El Mirador (tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g60956-d43…) - this is one of my favorite restaurants in SA, located just south of downtown

another good Tex-Mex place just north of the riverwalk by a couple of blocks (a place where locals go for lunch) Blanco Cafe (tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g60956-d48…)

Texas/southern cooking: Liberty Bar http://www.liberty-bar.com

other things to do close to the Riverwalk? check out the newly rennovated Aztec Theater in downtown: http://www.aztecontheriver.com/

La Villita for shopping: http://lavillita.com/

take a river tour: http://www.riosanantonio.com/

as far as nightlife goes, there are many clubs/bars up/down the riverwalk and on street level...just walk around go to what looks fun...too many to name.....have fun in SA!

We took a hop-on/hop-of ftrolley tour that was really nice. It was narrated and went thru the historical districts and neighborhoods surrounding the Riverwalk area. Very interesting!! They start from the Alamo area, I believe.

never stayed, but i've been to Hotel Valencia about three different times for dinner at Citrus and cocktails in the bar. it's a very clean, nice, modern hotel - dark and chic - right on the riverwalk on a quiet, safe end - you would probably love it.
