Which Trolley?

We are going in 2 weeks and would like to do one of the trolley's to get a tour and do the jump on/off thing.

I see there is Alamo Trolley and the Red & Green Trolleys....is one better than other in terms of the tour and number of available trolleys...

don't want to have to wait forever to get a trolley when we 'jump off'

Alamo Trolley is a Tour company that goes to the different stops. The other trolley there is 4 colors

red, yellow, purple & Blue routes, on these you can buy a pass for the day for around $4.00 or a $1.10 a ride. You can use the trolley to get to the different places without going on the tour but it doesn't go to the missions.

Here is the website for the trolleys in downtown SA

Here is a website for the Tour of hop on & off

Another website with lots of info on SA & how to get around is the following website it also has maps.

Hope you have a great time & Please write a TR when you get back.

Being a local, I haven't used the tours personally. But here's my take based on what I've read on the internet. I believe the two you mention are the same -

Alamo Trolley - $35 for two days hop on hop off - sites The Alamo; Imax Theatre, Rivercenter Mall, Riverboat Rides; Institute of Texan Cultures; Market Square; San Fernando Cathedral; La Villita(all downtown walking distance) Mission San Jose, Mission Concepcion (the two most popular missions south of town.) A little pricey, doesn't cover the north side attractions like the zoo, the Witte, The McNay, San Antonio Museum of Art, Botanical Gardens.

As Pruske mentioned the city runs four trolley lines downtown. In addition, they have a tourist route bus that runs to the northern attractions. I think these are much better deals.
