Titan Missle Museum

How much time can a person spend at the Titan Missle Museum? Is it really worth a visit?

1- 2 hours at missle silo. Yes, it is worth it. Also a nearby ASARCO mineral museum with mine tours. Then keep heading south on I-19 to Tubac and spend the rest of the day there in the shops and galleries. On way back to Tucson, try the Agave Room at the Desert Diamond Casino for dinner.

Thanks for the tips. We will be staying near the East entrance to Saguaro NP. Do you know how the trails there are marked? Will they be easy to navigate? Is it also necessary to wear hiking boots or can we simply wear TEVA type sandals to sneakers? We are not huge hikers...just tourist type hikers (smile).

Trails are easy to find in the park. Mostly flat. They also have good trail map at the visitor center. Walking shoes/sneakers are OK. Open shoes are bad. Too much sand and cactus stickers.

You may also want to do a walk in Sabino Canyon north of the monument. You can hike trails (some climbing), walk the pavement 5 miles up, or ride the tram up.

I though the MIssle Museum was great.. Another place is the Pima Air & Space Museum (www.pimaair.org). Now THAT is an airlplane museum. Went several years ago. Allow several hours. When I went the WALKING tour was about 2 hours. THey had restored B25 bombers............just a lot of WAY COOL stuff.

Across the street (well, NEAR the museum) there is a HUGE mothball fleet, but I dont know if you are allowed in there.
