November is low season for Estes Park so there are usually many good lodging deals like buy 2 nights and get 1 free. I noted on one of your other posts you like to have the option of cooking your own meals. If so, a cabin (starting at $99 a night) at the YMCA is an excellent option. Amberwood also has cabins for less than $100 a night with kitchens. If all you need is a cheap, clean place to sleep, Mountain Lodge at Amberwood has $45 rates. Discovery Lodge is walking distance to central downtown Estes Park and as you have found, has great winter rates. It is located at the end of "hotel row" off highway 34/Big Thompson Avenue. Being at the end of the row and backing up to the golf course does give Discovery Lodge a better setting than many of the hotels on the row. The lodge rooms at the YMCA are basic and clean and with it being low season, I would not be as concerned about noise or lots of kids running around. The "Y" has a beautiful location with extensive grounds and great views. The property adjoins the eastern side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Staying at the "Y" does entitle you to all the activities they offer for free or at reduced costs. Coyote Mountain Lodge also has rates of $49 to $59 during the week. The cheapest rooms are ones they have yet to remodel.

You can check reviews here on TA and look at traveler photos and room tips to help you decide. Be sure to look at reviews for low season (October through April for instance) as people's experiences in low season can be very different than during the hectic and busy peak summer season.
