Depends on what you consider a good time. It will be cold during the day but most likely there will be abundant sunshine and azure blue skies. The sun will make it feel warmer than the thermometer will register. You can look up highs and lows, but it will go below freezing at night.

There usually isn't snow in early December, but there can be some later in month. BUT we have had drought conditions for many years. And as you may know, we have had a boatload of rain in September. What that means as far as snow for this winter is any ones guess.

Does this answer your question??

Spring is actually our least nice season - lots of wind and blowing sand and dust. And not to disagree with carracar - but I think there is more for a family with kids to do in ABQ than in Santa Fe. Maybe a few days in each place?

What kinds of things do you want to be doing? That will help us help you. Are the kids girls or boys? What are their interests? And yours? Budget?

We have two boys

We like outdoor stuff and also museums

Just walking around and seeing different neighborhoods and art galleries is also fun

Good food for sure but we are trying not to spend too much

Thanks

I would suggest a few days in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque. There is lots to see and do in each city. It will be less expensive if you are not thinking Christmas/ New Years; more if you are... you didn't specify.

We visited our Son in ABQ in February and the daytime temperature was quite nice. But we went out for a early dinner in shirtsleeves, when we left the Restaurant after the Sun went down we found the temperature had dropped about 30-40 degrees very rapidly. So if you go don't forget to layer your clothing.
