Solo Traveler Weeknight Things To Do

I'll be working in Albuquerque three days a week for the next few months. While I'm there, I'd love to get a feel for the city. However, my only free time will be Monday and Tuesday evenings after 5pm, so that eliminates much in the way of museums, hiking, and the usual recommended things to do.

Any suggestions for weeknight evening outings? I love good food and wine, so unique, interesting restaurants and wine bars would be great. But I'd also love suggestions for things to do beyond sitting in a restaurant or bar.

I'm not at all familiar with the city, and I'm going to be there a lot, so I'd like to find some fun, local things to do to make the business travel a bit more like a vacation. I'll be staying North, but I'll have a car so will be mobile.

Thanks!

Welcome to New Mexico! Visit www.itsatrip.org for Albuquerque information.

You can take the Sandia Tram to the top of Sandia Peak. There is a restaurant there and they run into the evenings. Beautiful view. A visit to Old Town for dinner would be nice as well. Season's, St Clair Winery/Bistro, Church St Cafe. Nob Hill/UNM area dining options are numerous. Local chains Wecks, Flying Star and LotaBurger all worth a try.

Plenty of restaurants in the northern part of Abq, but Nob Hill on Central near UNM is where most of the trendy spots are. Sandia Casino is north of Abq and many times they have concerts.

Some places in the Northern areas Torinos www.torinosfoods.com , El Pinto www.elpinto.com/ , Trombino's, http://bistroitaliano.com/

Hi CasaAzul (waving from Colorado Springs)! Thanks for the welcome! I have a feeling I'm going to be a regular around the Albuquerque forum over the next few months.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't realize the tram ran in to the evening. I'd looked up the hours for the trolley and a few of the museums, but was striking out for anything open in the evenings.

It looks like the Botanic Gardens does some occasional evening events, but they seemed to be more family/child oriented.

How about the Ghost Tour of Old Town? That's at 8pm every evening, and seems like it might be something to do one night.

Ghost tour sounds fun, we haven't done it. I love the Botanic Gardens, worth a visit if something is going on. Also Isotopes baseball for the next month or so.
