You have a couple options near the Omni. I suggest you avoid the Landry's restaurants, (Joe's Crab Shack and Landry's) and stay local for seafood. If you exit the Omni and follow Water Street there are two restaurants about 3 blocks south, both owned by the same folks. They are sister restaurants with basically the same menu. Water Street Oyster Bar is our favorite and it has a very nice sushi bar. Next door is Water Street Seafood Company. Both have a nice selection of seafood entrees and daily specials. In the same area is a more casual dining experience at the Executive Surf Club.

The best steaks would be at the top of the Omni, The Republic of Texas...fine dining and expensive. Likewise a couple blocks from the Omni is Katz 21, also fine dining and a bit expensive.

There are the usual chains on the southside along SPID and Saratoga if you have a car (Outback, Texas Roadhouse, etc.)

By the way, there are two Omni's; the Bayfront Tower and the Marina Tower. Not sure which you are staying at but the Republic of Texas is in the Bayfront Tower (they are a block apart from each other).

Enjoy the Boat Show!!!

Snoopy's is a great choice for casual seafood on the Laguna Madre but it is about a 25 minute drive from downtown. Definitely worth the drive though for great sunsets and enjoying primarily fried seafood in a very casual setting.

Thanks for the info, Snoopy's sounds perfect, we were loooking for something casual and on the water, although my husband hates seafood, (imagine that). We are driving to Corpus so we will have a car.

Word of caution. Cash only at Snoopy's. There is an ATM on the premises.

I recommend Dock's. It is right next to Snoopys. Both are good but I prefer Dock's. Snoopy's is almost all deep fried sea food. Docks has more of a selection for the person who does not like seafood.

Snoopy's is awesome.. If you are around the Lexington, Blackbeard's is very delicious too. Hope you have fun!
