Corpus this weekend for 2 couples

This will be our first time and are wondering where is the best place to stay at where its just a stones throw away from the beach? We'll want to be hanging out at the beach all day and at night want to visit some bars. Also is Corpus kind of like Galveston where its one long stretch of beach?

Thanks in advanced!

Holiday Inn Padre Island is ON the beach. You can check the hotel listing in the upper left of this page and find more.

Yes, we do have a long, long beach. With a 4-wheel drive you can drive over 70 miles of beach.

Please read the Top Questions on the upper right of the page: Where are the beaches located. There is no long stretch of beach in Corpus Christi. You will want to stay on Mustang Island if you want long beaches with development, preferably Port Aransas. Port A is where you will find open water beaches and night life. The small city beaches in Corpus Christi are not open water beaches but on the bayfront. Daleb is correct, Holiday Inn Sunspree Padre Island is the only full service hotel along the beach that is technically in Corpus Christi although it is 25 minutes from downtown CC and it's attractions.
