This is the Place--Deseret Village

We will have one full day to spend in the Salt Lake City area and plan to visit Temple Square in the morning. The afternoon is open and we were interested in checking out Deseret Village. Another suggestion was Little Cottonwood Canyon, but I'm thinking after Yellowstone and Tetons, we might be up for something historic rather than scenic. Any feedback on the Deseret Village? We are 4 adults ages 47 - 77. Thank you!

It is probably a 2 hour drive north of Salt Lake, but if you are into historic - Promontory Point fits the bill - You know - The Golden Spike monument - meeting of the rails.

This is the Place is good for about 90 minutes, max.

When visiting Temple square, don't forget to check out the geneology museum, the history museum and the conference center.
