Mount Cook

Pls advise on any reviews of Glentanners Park in Mount Cook. We will be travelling from Te Anau to Mount Cook on 24 Nov leaving at 8 am . Can we reach Mount Cook at 5 pm if we make stops along the way. Can we reach glentanners in time before it gets dark. What's not to miss in Mount Cook. Is it more scenic to stay at a budget for 5 at Mountcook or the village? Thanks so much.

1. Re: Mount Cook

the drive Te Anau to Aoraki/Mt Cook is over 400ks and will take over 6 hours without stopping. This does not make for safe nor enjoyable travel.

The number one cause of visitor accidents in NZ is driver fatigue. Please consider staying overnight in Queenstown or Cromwell.

Last month I offered you a revised itinerary which makes for a safer and more relaxed trip...

18 arrive Christchurch, explore

19 collect car, drive Arthur's Pass to Franz

20 explore glaciers, drive to Wanaka

21 drive to Te Anau

22 explore Milford Sound, stay Te Anau

23 drive to Queenstown

24 explore

25 drive to Aoraki/Mt Cook or Tekapo

26 drive to Chch

27 fly out
