Wailea weather in March?

What is the weather usually like in March? We will be staying in the Wailea area the 2nd week of March 2010. We plan to visit all the south beaches and drive up to the Upcountry one of the days. We've been to Maui three times before, always in June. This time we wanted to go duirng whale season . I'm curious, is the weather similar to June's (85 +- air temp; water warm enough for snorkeling)? Or is there a real noticable difference?

I use a shortie wet suit in March so I can snorkel as long as I want. My hubby just uses a rash guardshirt. water is nippy. Air temp is a delight.

I think you will love Wailea in March. It is dry and in the 80s. I think the water is warm enough. I think it's pretty warn all year round, though.

It won't be as quite as warm in March as it is in June. That's not a bad thing though. Chances for some rain are also greater. You are in luck because Wailea is on the driest part of the island. The water is warm enough to snorkel year round. Make sure you go down to Big Beach to watch the whales. This is a fantastic beach for sunset whale watching!!
